Regarding Lawrence Maddry's column (May 31) about state conservation and wildlife Director Kirby Burch's shooting of the pigs in the wildlife refuge:
Obviously, Mr. Maddry understood neither the situation facing Kirby Burch there in Back Bay nor our conservation director's need for preserving his last remaining bullet.
My confidential and highly placed sources tell me that he was saving the final round for himself - in case things got really bad. We all know how feral pigs treat their prisoners.
On the other hand, considering his marksmanship - as demonstrated by his first six shots - chances are he'd miss with the final one, too, regardless of his target.
