Emory Latham Whidbee, 69, of the 1500 block of Campostella Road and formerly of Plymouth, N.C., died Monday.
He was a native of Washington County, N.C., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired merchant seaman. Mr. Whidbee was a member of the Chesapeake Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Vivian Naylor and Mrs. Martha McIver, both of Plymouth, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Horner-Walker Funeral Home in Plymouth, N.C. Interment will be in Windley Cemetery.
