Dorothy Ames Christopher, 92, a resident of Hillhaven Retirement Center for several years, died June 5, 1995.
A native of Churchland, she was a daughter of the late James Edward and Annie Mary Eberwine Ames and the widow of Floyd Hudnall Christopher. Mrs. Christopher was a resident of Franklin for 42 years, where she was a member of the Franklin High Street Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg and following her graduation she taught school in Chuckatuck High School and then in Franklin for a number of years.
Survivors include two sons, F. Hudnall Christopher Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C., W. Ames Christopher of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Ashley Penn Christopher of Charlottesville and David Ames Christopher of Evanston, Ill.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
