Callie L. Liggins, 69, of the 100 block of E. Indian River Road in the Berkley section of Norfolk, died June 4, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Liggins was born in Memphis, Tenn., and was a retired domestic worker and cook. She was the only child of the late Fred and Emma Jones. She was formerly a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Mrs. Liggins was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her loving husband, James Liggins; six daughters, Barbara J. Wallace of California, Evelyn Sheddrick of Cincinnati, Patricia A. Trotman, Lois J. Davis, Lorraine Rogers and Beverly V. Owens, all of Norfolk; three sons, James A. Liggins, David L. Liggins and Christopher C. Liggins, all of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Strait Gate Chapel, 1408 Poindexter St., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Horace S. Allen Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 113 E. Indian River Road, Norfolk, at 1 p.m. Friday for the funeral processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
