Grace Cartwright Davenport, 81, of Route 1, died Wednesday, June 7, 1995, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Portsmouth.
She was a native of Camden County, N.C., and a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Dell Mercer and Hulda Moss Cartwright and the widow of Jessie Ray Davenport.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Ray Davenport Sr. of Portsmouth and three grandchildren, Eddie Ray Davenport Jr., Robin D. West and Lisa A. Davenport, all of Portsmouth.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in New Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City with the Rev. Tom Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Northside Chapel, Elizabeth City, from 1 p.m. Friday until the time of serivce.
