Philip A. Hines, of the 200 block of Red Cedar Court, a retired chief petty officer of the U.S. Navy, died June 5, 1995.
Mr. Hines was born in Wilcox County, Ala., and was retired from the Department of the Navy after 28 years. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Irma (Jean) Lawrence Hines; brothers, Oliver G. Hines of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Walter Hines of New York City, Otis Coley of Mobile, Ala. and Lewis Ramsey of Brunswick, Ga.; sister, Lorrine Blythwood of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be at sea. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
