Marjorie Butler Wheeler, 75, of the 400 block of Crown Crescent, died Tuesday, June 6, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Wert Lawrence and Pearl Jernigan Butler. She was the widow of H.C. Wheeler.
Mrs. Wheeler retired after 34 years from Hofheimers Shoe Stores. She then served as administrative manager of National Directory Advertising, TBA Services, Inc., and Page One Graphics. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. As she lived, she passed with grace and dignity.
Survivors include her son, W. Robert Wheeler, of Virginia Beach; her granddaughter, Courtney L. Wheeler, of Richmond; her sister, Christine Butler Koford, of Roy, Utah; and two brothers, Robert E. Butler, of Raleigh, N.C., and W. Lawrence Butler, of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Woodland Heights Baptist Church by Rev. Barnes. Graveside services will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Oman Funeral Home, Chesapeake, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The family suggests memorial contributions to Woodland Heights Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
