Regarding the very disturbing local news about a woman who set a poor, helpless puppy on fire for simply being a puppy:
How can an innocent animal do anything bad enough to warrant such torture? It can't!
Animals do not methodically plan things. They need to be loved and trained to control their behavior, not abused!
The alleged abuser doesn't know what she has missed - the truest relationship between two living creatures. She could have been unconditionally loved regardless of her age, color, religion or financial status. She could have been comforted and accompanied. She could have been protected - to the end if necessary.
With all the goodness that a dog is, she probably still could be.
