WITHIN THE HALLS of Indian River High is a revival of the game ``Hacky Sack.''
Growing up in the college town of Amherst, Mass., I watched older kids kick around the same brightly colored little sacks. Now, the trend has traveled to Indian River.
Before school, after school and during lunch, students toss around the little leather balls. Some will even use a piece of balled-up paper if they don't own the proper equipment.
The object of the game is to toss around a small, bean-filled sack using only one's feet. The insteps, the heels, the toes - no part goes neglected. With practice, fancy moves, such as spinning or kicking extra high, are tried. At Indian River, we play every chance we get. MEMO: Kimberly Hammerman is a senior at Indian River High School.
