James Aubrey Cuthrell, 75, of the 100 block of York Drive, died Wednesday, June 7, 1995, in his residence.
A native of Lake Landing, N.C., Mr. Cuthrell was retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce M. Cuthrell; three daughters, Laura Ward of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Sheila Grimsley of Portsmouth and Annette Cuthrell of Raleigh, N.C.; three sons, Joe Cuthrell of Suffolk, Ron Cuthrell of Chesapeake and Aubrey Cuthrell Jr. of Portsmouth; a brother, Keith Cuthrell of Lake Landing, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Ted Barton. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
