The Medical College of Hampton Roads re-elected Andrew S. Fine, Dr. Willette L. LeHew and Madeline H. Sly to its board of visitors for a one-year term.
The Commonwealth of Virginia elected Dot Kelley chairperson of its trauma nurse coordinators council. Delley is coordinator of trauma services with Virginia Beach General Hospital.
MEDIA
Colleen R. Pittman was named vice president-finance with Landmark Communications Inc. in Norfolk. Pittman was Landmark's corporate tax director, and will continue to have responsibilities for the corporation's income tax planning and compliance.
Pittman, a certified public accountant, joined Landmark in 1987 as assistant controller of the Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star.
International Family Entertainment Inc. in Virginia Beach promoted Bob Black to director of budgeting and treasury. Black joined IFE in January after 10 years with The Christian Broadcasting Network Inc. and Regent University.
Linda Bowers replaces Black as director of external reporting. She will be responsible for preparation of IFE financial statements and coordination of audits. Bowers, a certified public accountant, was with KPMC Peat Marwick.
IFE also appointed Rita D. McClenny director of corporate communications. McClenny was director of the Virginia Film Office, a division of the state's Department of Economic Development.
REAL ESTATE
H. Ashton Williamson III was appointed an industrial specialist brokering industrial/warehouse properties with S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. in Norfolk. Williamson was an industrial/commercial real estate appraiser with Graham & James Associates in Norfolk.
MANUFACTURING
John J. Cali was named vice president of administration with Sumitomo Machinery Corp. of America in Chesapeake. He will be responsible for corporate human resources, management information systems, production control, purchasing, customer service, planning and auditing, general affairs and facility services.
He will also assume responsibilities for the regional plant operations in Illinois, California and Texas.
Cali has been with the manufacturer of industrial drives and speed reducers for 18 years, most recently serving as assistant vice president of operations.
The Smithfield Ham and Products Co. Inc. named James S. Groves vice president of retail sales. For the past 10 year, Groves has served as vice president and general manager of Smithfield's sister company, V.W. Joyner & Co.
And, Larry R. Santure replaces Groves as general manager with Joyner. Santure was a district sales manager with Kraft Foodservice Inc.
ORGANIZATIONS
Tom Vaughan was elected chairman of the board with the Better Business Bureau of Greater Hampton Roads. Vaughan is president of Burgess Snyder Industries in Virginia Beach.
Tom Maddock was named an honorary member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Maddock is president and chief executive officer of Boyle Engineering Corp. in Newport News.
Margaret S. Lane was elected president of the Portsmouth-Chesapeake Association of Life Underwriters. Lane is an account executive with Henderson & Phillips Insurance in Norfolk. MEMO: Career Track reports upper-level executive and management changes. Items
