Manuela Gomez Kannon, 84, of the 800 block of First Colonial Road, a retired bookkeeper, died June 10, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Kannon was a native of Comillas, Spain. She was the widow of Barker Kannon, and the daughter of the late Miguel and Carmen Gomez. She was a graduate of Portlock High School in Chesapeake and a longtime resident of Zebulon, N.C., and was Roman Catholic.
Survivors include a sister, Alba G. Jackson and her husband, Harlan Jackson; two brothers, Bernard Gomez and Robert Gomez; a sister-in-law, Edna Gomez; and many nieces and nephews.
A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, June 13, at 10 a.m. in Star Of The Sea Catholic Church by The Rev. William V. Sullivan. Internment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. A christian wake service will be held Monday evening, June 12, at 7:00 p.m., in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel.
