Elizabeth Hawks Jennings, 86, of 2400 Woolsey St., last survivor of six children, died June 11, 1995, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Bedford County, Va., and lived in the Foxhall community for 51 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Lee Jennings Sr. and son, Hollis Lee Jennings Jr. She sang in the choir and was an active member of Ferebee Halstead Memorial United Methodist Church for many years. She served on the committee for the Democratic Party Precinct in Foxhall and was active in campaigns for many of her party's candidates and also very active in the Foxhall Civic League.
Survivors include a daughter, Nannie (Pete) Ewell of Norfolk; daughter-in-law, Carol B. Jennings of Tabb; granddaughters, Cindy Ewell of Norfolk, Vickie and her husband, Bud Williams of Chesapeake; grandsons, Hollis Lee Jennings III of Maryland, Brooks Jennings of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kyle Williams of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 1995, from the graveside in Rosewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Jonathan Beck officiating. Donations may be made to the Ferebee Halstead Memorial United Methodist Church, 1520 Halstead Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23502. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
