ROY L. PETTY

Roy L. Petty, 78, died Saturday, June 10, 1995, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

Mr. Petty was a native of Halifax County and was the son of the late Bunyon Glass and Lottie Bass Ingram Petty. Mr. Petty was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired store manager for A & P in Richmond, a member of the Khedive Temple Masonic Lodge, Norfolk and was a member of First Baptist Church of Petersburg.

Mr. Petty is survived by his wife, Doris Tyler Petty; three daughters and two sons, Nancy P. Simmons and Roy L. Petty Jr., both of Roanoke and Charles T. Petty of Mechanicsville, Va., Sarah P. Rawlings of Franklin and Ruth P. Bush of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Annie Perkinson of Ettrick, Va., Mrs. Velma Gardner of Lynchburg, Va., Mrs. Sarah Pamplin of Matoaca, Va., Mrs. Doris Harrison of Newport News and Mr. Carlton Petty of Colonial Heights, Va. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, June 13, 1995 at 2 p.m. in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, with the Rev. D. Allen Schuyler officiating. Family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Va.
