DOLE DENOUNCES DEVIANCY. BRAVO!

I'm no fan of Bob Dole, but I may become one. I applaud his recent criticism of Hollywood and the deviant elements of the entertainment industry.

Bob Dole's comments are just what's needed to change this country for the better; and they are completely consistent with the First Amendment. Mr. Dole is not trying to coerce compliance using law, but is merely using his influence in a bully-pulpit fashion. Anyone familiar with the psychology of group dynamics knows how effective this can be.

The liberals have been chastising the proponents of morality for the past 40 years - and our society has complied. However, if more people of Mr. Dole's stature will follow his lead, Hollywood, and the likes of Time Warner, will feel less secure in ``mainstreaming deviancy.''

Jefferson argued in his notes on Virginia that the reason we didn't need established religion to maintain peace and order in our society is because there were plenty of people willing to shout down the promoters of deviancy, as Mr. Dole did. Jefferson said that was the proper way to do it, not with law.

Bob Dole's leadership is the best approach to restoring order to our society without the establishment of religion that many on the left fear. It is truly the Jeffersonian way.
