Roosevelt Land, 54, of the 1200 block of Pipers Crescent, a retired gardener, died June 14, 1995, in Virginia Beach Genera Hospital.
Born in Princess Anne County, he retired in 1985 from the Botanical Gardens after six years.
Survivors include two stepsons, Jimmy Ramsey of Virginia Beach and Joseph Cason of Kentucky; one grandson, Jermaine White of Virginia Beach; seven sisters, Roseanna Land of Virginia Beach, Martha R. Land, Mary L. Washington, Roxie B. Cox, Princess E. Cuffee, Nancy M. Land, all of Norfolk, and Rachell Revell of California; two brothers, Dallas Land of California and Vergis Land of Virginia Beach; devoted fiancee, Shirley Ramsey; a host of nieces, nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Morning Star Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park. P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services, Inc., is handling arrangements.
