DR. LAURA BRAGG MCDANIEL

Laura Bragg McDaniel, M.D., died on Friday, June 16, 1995, in Galveston at home.

Born Nov. 3, 1952, in Logan, W.Va., Laura was an associate professor of anesthesiology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, having joined the faculty in 1991. She attended Scott High School in Madison, W.Va., and received her bachelor of arts degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and her master of science and doctor of medicine degrees from West Virginia University.

Laura received grants from the American Heart Association and The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research. She served as associate examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology and was a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, the Texas Medical Association, the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, the Gulf Coast Anesthesiology Society and the Galveston County Medical Society.

Laura was a member of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church in Galveston.

She is survived by her parents, Ralph H. Bragg and Elizabeth Vranch Bragg of Madison, W.Va.; her sisters, Mary Ann Bragg of East Dennis, Mass., and Janey Bragg of Atlanta; and by her fiance, Scott Barker of Galveston.

A memorial service will be held for Laura at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, Galveston. Visitation will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 19, in Danville, W.Va., at Handley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, W.Va.
