The Coast Guard on Friday suspended its search for two men who were missing after their 24-foot boat sank early Thursday morning west of Deal Island, Md., just north of the Virginia line.
The missing men were identified as 65-year-old Albert Durant of Pikesville, Md., and 36-year-old Donald Sanderson of Bel Air, Md.
Two other Baltimore-area men, Samuel Hunt and Rodney Shell, were rescued about 8 a.m. Thursday by passing fishing boats after the men had drifted in the water for about an hour.
Hunt, 39, and Shell, 38, were treated at a hospital in Crisfield, Md., and then released.
All four men were forced into the Chesapeake Bay when a large wave washed over the stern of their sports fishing boat. The Coast Guard, the Maryland State Police and the Maryland Natural Resource Police and several private vessels took part in the search. by CNB
