Some of the honor graduates, not all of the ``we,'' at Princess Anne High School, do not support the crybaby attitudes of the majority of the honor graduates (``Why deny honor students at PA the usual honor?'', letters, June 11). I was never approached by a petition to ``rant and rave'' about the inconsistencies in the fairness all around the world.
For the readers' information, Principal Patricia Griffin sent a letter home to the honor graduates and their parents to notify them of the changes in the policy this year. This was to ``unify'' the school in efforts to work hard all year, without picking the honor graduates and granting them diplomatic immunity and knighthood on the spot.
It makes no difference to many of the honor graduates whether we are first, last, in the middle, or parachuted down on the 50-yard line. If this is what tomorrow's generation is going to worry about in life, folks, we have a serious prob-lem.

Virginia Beach Who says school finances need no outside audit?
Let me see if I understand this correctly: The same crowd that spent $43,000 on a flagpole which reportedly does not work properly now claims that a comprehensive and independent audit of the Virginia Beach public schools' financial records would be a ``waste of taxpayer money.''
Incredible.

Chairman, Kids First When you need a cop, call council instead?
City Council has not given citizens the take-home car program for police promised when some members campaigned, or adequate salaries for our police officers, or the additional manpower that is obviously needed.
So what am I supposed to do when my family and I are threatened? Run to the mayor's house for protection? Or to Dean Block's? Or to any member of City Council? Better yet, should I run to the newly dredged Lynnhaven River or the amphitheater site?

Virginia Beach Appalling show sponsor
I am appalled that the Virginia Beach Center for the Arts sold out by accepting Philip Morris as a sponsor for the Boardwalk Art Show. People who displayed and bought art during this event literally helped to promote nicotine addiction.
This event occurred just as Philip Morris settled a Justice Department complaint that it had illegally displayed oversized cigarette advertisements so that they would be televised during sporting events. The company is also under continuing investigation by the Food and Drug Administration for manipulating nicotine levels in cigarettes to ensure addiction. Philip Morris is America's largest and deadliest drug pusher.
As popular as the Boardwalk Art Show has been, it can surely survive and thrive without accepting blood money from a corporate mass murderer which wishes to purchase legitimacy.
