Anna Kayes Smith, 103, of the first block of Travis Place, died Saturday, June 17, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mrs. Smith, a native of Weston Mills, N.Y., was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was the widow of Edward L. Smith and also was preceded in death by a son, Edward L. Smith Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Dempsey of Newport News, Virginia Powell of Cabot, Ark., and Janice Smith of Portsmouth; two sons, John Smith of Richmond and Richard Smith of Portsmouth; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by Rev. Joseph Slowik. Burial will be in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
