O'Kelley A. Lanier, 84, a resident of Wakefield, died Sunday, June 18, 1995, at his home. Born in Sussex County, he was son of the late John Robin and Durley Van Lanier. He was a retired construction worker and farmer, a member of Barrett's Congregational Christian Church, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Wakefield Lodge 198, A.F. & A.M. and a Shriner and a member of the Khedive Temple, Norfolk.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Louise Zimmerman Lanier; three sons, David Lee Lanier, Albert Robin Lanier and Robin Abraham Lanier, all of Wakefield; two daughters, Julie Ann Cross of Como, N.C., and Louise Arlene Lanier of Wakefield; two sisters, Dorothy Birdsong and Alma Boykin, both of Wakefield; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 1995, by the Rev. Woodrow Laine. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, c/o Khedive Temple, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
