Haywood Odom Sr., of the 1700 block of Greenleaf Drive, an automobile mechanic, died June 14, 1995, in Leigh Memorial.
Mr. Odom was born in Emporia, Va. He was employed with Huff Cadillac and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Delores Odom of Norfolk; four daughters, Juliette Cook of Virginia Beach and Paulette Davis and Pamela Short, both of Chesapeake and Angela Odom of Norfolk; seven sons, Harold Barnes of Jeffersonville, Ind., Haywood Odom Jr., Ralph, Jeffrey, Ricky and Derrick Odom, all of Norfolk and William Barnes of Chesapeake; six sisters, Dorothy Webbs of Richmond, Corrine Booker of North Carolina, Julia Nix of Maryland, Charlotte Perkins of Brooklyn and Mattrew Odom of Emporia; nine brothers, Bendoff Odom of Virginia Beach, Winfield Odom of Emporia, Elisha Odom of Washington, D.C., Paul Odom of Dallas, Texas, Henry Odom of Emporia, Abraham Odom and Eddie Odom, both of Maryland and Moses Odom and Joseph Odom, both of Clinton, Md.; and 36 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Way of the Cross COGIC by Elder Lewis Hines. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing today at 3 p.m. The family will assemble at Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, at 11 a.m. for processional.
