``Way to salvation'' (letter, June 8) sounded more like a catechism than a relevant response.
In response to the Christians who support school prayer and not the Constitution's separation of church and state, I respectfully point attention to the many lessons history has for us that make plain the abuses of state-sponsored religion.
I also point attention to how the letter writer or her children might feel some years in the future if Islam, the world's fastest growing religion, were prominent and in school and she were forced to partake in or be constantly subject to Muslim prayer? I suspect then she might cry for freedom and learn the lesson that our founding fathers learned: State-sponsored religion profoundly infringes the personal, God-given freedoms of its citizens.
