Maurice Lee Brickhouse, 78, of the 3600 block of Bertha St., a retired marine engineer, died June 19, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Brickhouse was born in Norfolk and was retired from Marine Engineers Beneficial Association after 30 years. He was a member of Elizabeth Masonic Lodge (NU)34; and Loyal Order of the Moose, Norfolk Lodge (NU)39, where he obtained the Pilgrim degree. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Shoaf of Norfolk and Marty Herron of Lincoln Park, Mich.; a brother, Carlton Brickhouse of Virginia Beach; beloved companion of 15 years, Loucile Shackelford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Frances Moody. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
