DR. FRANK L. WELLS JR.

Dr. Frank Lamson Wells Jr., D.D.S., 85, formerly of Norfolk, died on Monday, June 19, 1995 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where he had lived for the past 13 years. He was an orthodontist, having practiced in Norfolk for over 35 years before his retirement. He was born in Ashland, Va., and was the son of the late Adelaide Major Willeroy and Rev. Frank L. Wells Sr., who served as pastor in Norfolk at Park Place and Ghent Methodist Churches, and was Superintendent of the Norfolk District of the Virginia Methodist Conference.

Dr. Wells was a 1934 graduate of the Loyola Dental School in New Orleans, and attended the Medical College of Virginia and Louisiana State University. He practiced dentistry in Norfolk before serving in the Pacific as a dental officer in the Army Air Corps during W.W. II. Tennis was a lifelong love of Dr. Wells, who was a championship player in his younger years, and continued to play into his 80s.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Agnes Chapman Wells; a daughter, Sally Wells Quigley of Steamboat Springs, Col., and Harwich Port, Mass.; a brother, W. Willeroy Wells of Bloomfield, Conn., and Searsport, Maine; and 3 grandsons.

A private graveside funeral service will be conducted in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VITAS Hospice, 3323 W. Commercial Blvd., Suite 200, Team 1, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. 33309. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
