ALAN T. DAVIS

Alan Thomas Davis, 70, of the 5300 block of Pine Grove Ave., died on Tuesday, June 20, 1995, in the Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born in Stroudsburg, PA, and was retired from the U.S. Army Air Force.

Mr. Davis was a member of the United Church of Christ, Atlantic Masonic Lodge, No. 2, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Khedive Shrine Temple. He devoted over 50 years of service to many of the Veterans organizations, which included over 45 years of volunteer work at the Hampton Veterans Hospital, a life member and of the Disabled American Veterans, Past Commander of Chapter No. 4, the Past State Commander for the State of Virginia, Tidewater Veterans Association, Past President of the Association of the U. S. Army, MacArthur Memorial Chapter, and was privileged to be listed in the Tidewater Who's Who of America.

Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Davis; a daughter, Laura K. Spencer of Chesapeake; a sister, Harriett D. Bowman of Norfolk; a brother, Lawrence Davis of Pasadena, CA; and two grandsons, Christopher Ryan Fox of Chesapeake, and Kenneth Edward Fox of Norfolk.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 22, 1995, in Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach by Chaplain Miles Murphy Jr. The family will greet friends following the service at the D.A.V. Home at 2428 Ingleside Road in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Program at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Building 114, Hampton, Va. 23667. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
