THELMA FREEMAN

Thelma Freeman, of the 1800 block of Princeton Ave., died suddenly June 17, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. Freeman was born in Norfolk. She was a self-employed child care provider for 15 years and a member of New Hope Church of God in Christ, Loving Care Committee, Pastor's Aide Club and Deaconess Wives Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Junious Freeman; a daughter, Clara Griffin of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, Rena Bristol of Chesapeake; four sisters, Gladys Powell, Ruth Clark and Shirley Williams, all of Norfolk, and Josephine Fields of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in New Hope Church of God in Christ, 3232 Brest Ave., Norfolk, by Dr. Herman Clark. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements by Metropolitan Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Family and friends will assemble at 1817 Princeton Ave., Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Thursday for funeral processional to the church.
