A BusinessNews story Tuesday about the Virginia Beach Department
of Convention and Visitors Development mistakenly reported that some
of the money transferred from the City Council would be used to
improve the phone system. The money will be used to pay for
telephone bills associated with the increased number of inquiries,
not for the new phone system.
A June 15 article about teenage fathers reported that Leslie H.
Carter said a fellow student at Granby High School in Norfolk called
him a racial epithet before Carter hit the student. Carter now says
he heard the epithet from a crowd of people but doesn't know whether
the student he hit said it.
