George Hebert wrote, ``Why do people go to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa? They know what she looks like'' (Perspectives, June 17).
This is inaccurate. They have only a flawed idea until they stand before her. No reproduction, however great, prepares us for the full impact of Mona Lisa or any other real art.
Do you think a snapshot of Niagara Falls is anything like being beside that rushing power? The real thing is best. That's why it's wanted so.
