Galaspa Claude Duck Sr., 85, of Chestnut St., died June 21, 1995.
Mr. Duck was born in Isle of Wight County and was the son of the late Crawley and Bessie Andrews Duck. He was a merchant and real estate agent. He was a member of South Quay Baptist Church, the Bruner Bible Class of Franklin Baptist Church (treasurer), the Forks of the River Ruritan Club (treasurer), and a charter member of the Franklin Fire Department, where he was currently an honorary member.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Bradshaw Duck; one daughter, Jean Duck Bittle Ayers of Franklin; one son, G.C. Duck Jr. of Radford; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Duck Moore of Windsor; one brother, Irving Daughtrey Duck of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Michelle B. Butt of Raleigh, Mary Margaret B. Allen of Richmond, G.C. Duck III and Bryan Duck, both of Radford; one great-grandchild, Jackson Leigh Butt; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Candace L. Allen.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Kumm and the Rev. Sharon James. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
