James Nelson Marshall, 68, a retired paint foreman, died June 21, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Marshall was born in Newport News and was a Baptist. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of American Legion Post (NU)60.
Survivors include his wife, Ermine Marshall; four daughters, Judy Fowlkes, Erma Jean ``Bunny'' Roper and Joyce Kimberly Nails, all of Norfolk, and Janice Hinkel of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Nellie McGarry and Bessie Hudgins, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; a half-brother, Robert Belvin of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Paul B. Watlington Jr. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
