Josephine Stewart McAllister, 94, of the 1900 block of Azalea Ave., died June 19, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.
Mrs. McAllister was born in Brunswick County, Va., and was the widow of Alexander McAllister. She was a member and Deaconess of First Baptist Church Elm Avenue in Portsmouth and a member of the Missionary Circle, Pastors Aid and Sunday School. She was also a member of Independent Order of Tents.
Survivors include three daughters, Sallie A. Lowe, Josephine Wiggins, both of Portsmouth, and Bessie R. Copeland of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Elm Avenue by the Rev. Gregory A. Thomas. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will begin at noon today in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at noon Friday.
