Vanderbilt Elliott Sr., 72, of the 1300 block of Coltrane Drive, died June 21, 1995, in a hospital.
Mr. Elliott was retired from the Norfolk Naval Base and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member, deacon and usher of Garden of Prayer Temple, Portsmouth, and was a member of Cavalier Manor Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille S. Elliott; four daughters, Margaret Branch, Ann Lewis, Linda Brickhouse and Melody Elam; a sister, Myrtle Powell; two brothers, the Rev. Arcelious Elliott Jr. and Olis Lee Elliott; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Vanderbilt Elliott Jr.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Garden of Prayer Temple, Portsmouth, by Bishop L.E. Willis Sr. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at the residence. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
