Christine D. Turner, 63, of the 1200 block of Marge Drive, died June 19, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Turner was born in Richmond, Va., and was the widow of Joseph H. Turner Sr. She was a member of the Mennonite faith. She was a Sunday School teacher, a Bible School teacher and conducted Jail Ministries.
Survivors include seven daughters, Geraldine E. Gordon, Sylvia Elliott, Wanda Jordan, all of Chesapeake, Gayle A. Turner of Virginia Beach, Kathy Smith of West Virginia, Diane Turner Whitt and Vivian Tomlin, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; four sons, Michael Turner and Larry L. Turner, both of Chesapeake, Kenneth Turner of West Virginia and Joseph H. Turner Jr. of Prospect, Va.; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a dear friend, Ann Kutz and the entire Mennonite Congregation; a beloved son-in-law, Linwood C. Elliott Jr. and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Roosevelt Memorial Park by the Rev. Robert Mast. Viewing will be for family only and services will be private. The family will be at 1407 Anthony Drive, Chesapeake, today. Corprew Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
