Lonnie Robert Currie, 73, of 5701 Meer St., died Thursday, June 22, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
He was a native of Weldon, N.C., and was the loving husband of Sue Phillips Currie. In 1989 he retired after 40 years at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth and was an Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his loving wife Sue, he is survived by one son, Robert B. Currie of Virginia Beach; one sister, Catherine Hipp of Virginia Beach; one brother, Joseph G. Currie of Penn Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, June 26, at 2 p.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N. Great Neck Road. Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel is handling the arrangements.
