The body of a 13-year-old Kentucky boy who had been missing since Monday washed up into the Oceanfront surf Friday, police said.
At about 11:50 a.m. lifeguards reported there was a body floating in the water near 53rd Street, said police spokesman Lou Thurston. The body was identified as Michael T. Etheridge, of Bardstown, Ky.
The teen was in town with his family for a family reunion. He was last seen playing at the Oceanfront Monday near 31st Street in knee-deep water, said police spokesman Lou Thurston.
``Family members reported seeing him in the water, turning around, turning back and he was not there,'' Thurston said.
Thurston said it is unclear what caused Etheridge to fall into the water. The death was ruled an accidental drowning, he said.
