ENGLISH COMPANY COMING TO SUFFOLK

An English company that distributes paper products, educational toys and recreational equipment has leased the old General Electric building in Suffolk adjacent to the Portsmouth Campus of Tidewater Community College.

Tom-Wat Inc., a subsidiary of Fine Art Developments PLC of Bradford, England, is leasing 41,054 square feet for office and warehouse space. The company will make an initial investment of $250,000 and will staff the national distribution center with 12 people. By June 1996, the company plans to expand total employment to 60 and total capital investment to $500,000.

``The GE building and the strengths of the Hampton Roads region will be able to supply our needs for space and manpower now and in the future as we plan to bring other divisions here over the next few years,'' Tom-Wat president Robert Gerard said. by CNB
