RICHARD C. THOMPSON

Richard Collins Thompson, 65, of the 1200 block of Indian Creek Road, died Friday, June 23, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.

Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Samuel A. Thompson and Hattie E. Thompson, who survives. He was retired from The Royster Company as the Plant Superintendent after 20 years, a member of the St. John's Hunt Club, and a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, Va.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Sanderlin Thompson of the home; his mother, Hattie E. Thompson of Chesapeake; 1 daughter, Mrs. Gail Thompson Harris and husband Michael Harris of Chesapeake; 2 sons, Richard Gary Thompson and wife Carole W. Thompson, both of Harbinger, N.C., and Mark Alan Thompson and wife Kelli H. Thompson, both of Harbinger, N.C.; 3 grandchildren, Chessie Adelia Harris of Chesapeake, Raleigh B. Thompson and Morgan Leigh Thompson both of Harbinger N.C.

A graveside service will be conducted in Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sunday, June 25, 1995,at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Tom Mercer. The family received friends at Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Hickory United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
