Phil Warren escaped the jinx of being the subject of a cover story.
Warren, who was profiled Thursday in The Virginian-Pilot, was the pole-sitter in the 100-lap Late Model Stock feature and was never challenged en route to his 11th victory of the year Saturday night at Langley Speedway.
Greg Edwards was second, followed by Bugs Hairfield, Shawn Balluzzo and Doug Godsey.
In other races:
Tod Carson overtook pole-sitter Kevin Adams on the first lap and never relinquished the lead in the 25-lap Limited Stock race. Adams was second and Kelly Carson third.
Cathy Mosier took the checkered flag for the second time this season in the Mini-Stock class. Mosier, who started fifth, vaulted to the lead on lap 17 of the 25-lapper, overtaking pole-sitter Jimmy Adkins. Kevin Harrison finished second and Adkins third.
Tom Humphries took the checkered flag in the 50-lap Mid-Atlantic Modified Tour feature, which was interrupted by a rain delay of an hour and a half. Ron Clary finished second and Matthew Ellis third.
At press time, the Pure Stock and Grand Stock results were unavailable. by CNB
