I COULD BARELY GET THROUGH THE JUNE 21 ARTICLE

I could barely get through the June 21 article about Southern Baptists apologizing for condoning slavery without being thoroughly disgusted.

No. 1: It's a little late.

No. 2: Why should we apologize at all?

A decision was made 130 years ago - ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY YEARS AGO! - that we mistakenly thought was right at the time. Why apologize now?

Southerners of today need to stop apologizing for something they had no control over - their history.
