Jane Eure Godwin, 59, of Route 3, Box 86-A, died June 27, 1995 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Godwin was born in Hertford County, N.C. She was a planning administrator in Hertford County, member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, church treasurer, member of the choir and served on several church committees. She was a member of the Murfreesboro Historical Association, the Antique Car Club and a former member of the Hertford County Board of Elections.
Survivors include her husband, Felton Cherry Godwin; two daughters, Cherry Godwin Howell of Sanford, N.C., and Bonnie Godwin Hansen of Carrollton, Va.; a son, Howard Godwin of Ahoskie; three sisters, Ruby Eure Ives of Eure, N.C., Marjorie Eure Futrell of Chuckatuck, Va., Stella Eure Pierce of Chesapeake, Va.; two brothers, Carol H. Eure of Gainesville, Ga., and Peter C. Eure of Winterville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. Wint Hale Jr., and the Rev. Daniel Spell. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Building Fund, Route 3, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910. Family will receive friends at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
