3 OTHERS FROM CHESAPEAKE SEEK PAGEANT TITLE

In addition to Miss Chesapeake, three other Chesapeake women will compete in Saturday's Miss Virginia Pageant in Roanoke.

Kinyatta Brown, Miss Williamsburg, is the 24-year-old daughter of Goldie and William Brown of Indian River.

Brown, an Indian River High School alumna, is a graduate of The College of William and Mary. She currently teaches history at Indian River High School and attends Rock Church in Virginia Beach.

For her talent, Brown will perform a lyrical jazz dance routine to a medley of songs including ``Julie's Theme'' and ``One Moment In Time.''

Last year, Brown was first runner-up in both the Miss Portsmouth Seawall Festival and Miss Norfolk pageants. For her pageant platform, Brown plans to champion the Head Start program, drawing from her mother's experience as a Head Start teacher and on her own experience working with the program's youngsters.

Stacey Renee Moseley, Miss Winchester Apple Blossom Festival, is the 19-year-old daughter of Jackie and Garland Moseley of Deep Creek.

Already a veteran of the professional stage and network television, Moseley graduated from the Professional Children's School of New York City.She is a junior at New York University majoring in drama therapy and sex education.

She appeared last year in a starring role in NBC's drama ``Law & Order'' and in ``As the World Turns.'' ''

Last year, as Miss Virginia Peanut Festival, the former Little Miss Chesapeake was one of the top five finalists in the Miss Virginia Pageant, eventually winning the second-runner-up spot.

For her talent, Moseley plans to sing Frank Sinatra's ``I've Got the World On a String'' and her platform is AIDS awareness and sex education.

Jennifer Holmes, Miss Norfolk, is the 19-year-old daughter of Vivian and Andrew Jones of the city's Greenbrier section.

Holmes, a 1994 graduate of Catholic High School, is a sophomore at Old Dominion University, working on a double major of music education and vocal performance. He enrollment at ODU allowed her to enter the Miss Norfolk Pageant.

Holmes has won the Virginia Lions' James Bland Music Scholarship and the James Stamos Music Scholarship at ODU.

Along with winning the Miss Norfolk title in May, Holmes also captured its talent award. For her Miss Virginia talent spot, she will sing ``A Piece of the Sky'' from the motion picture ``Yentl.''

For her pageant platform, Holmes will discuss M.Y. F.O.C.U.S. (Motivating Youth Forward On a Crusade for Universal Success), a program encompassing four phases: personal growth ideas, risk taking, choosing role models and achieving goals. MEMO: AT A GLANCE
