WILLIS G. MCDANIEL

Willis Gordon ``Pete'' McDaniel, 63, of Temple Court, passed away June 29, 1995, in the V.A. Medical Center, Hampton, after an extended illness.

Mr. McDaniel was a native of Pulaski, Va., and was retired as a customs patrol officer from the U.S. Customs Service in 1988 after 37 years of government service. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954.

Survivors include his wife, Martha K. McDaniel; a daughter, Jane M. Cunningham and her husband, Danny of Buckhannon, W.Va.; his mother, Winnie K. McDaniel of Darlington, Md.; a sister, Janet M. Lamb and a brother, Duane McDaniel, both of Darlington; a grandchild, Ruth Anne Rodgers of Buckhannon; and two stepgrandchildren, Sherry Feronti of Bryans Road, Md., and Josh Cunningham of Elkins, W.Va. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Diane.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Biltmore Baptist Church or Portsmouth Christian Schools.
