Larry V. Salamat, 59, of the 5200 block of Norvella Ave., died June 28, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Salamat was born in Bulacan, Philippines, and was a maintenance engineer with the U.S. Postal Service. He was also retired from the U.S. Navy as a petty officer first class and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, St. Luke's Council of Knights of Columbus (NU)367; and member of FIL-AM of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Corazon C. Salamat; a daughter, Carolyn C. Salamat, and a son, Christopher C. Salamat, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Lolita S. Aguilar of the Philippines and Binay S. Tran of New Jersey; three brothers, Cezar C. Salamat of the Philippines, Faustino V. Salamat of Philadelphia and Francisco V. Salamat of California.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev. William J. Dale. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. today. The family will receive friends in the church from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today.
