JAMES D. PERRY SR.

James Donnis Perry Sr., 70, of the 400 block of N. Pembroke Ave., died June 28, 1995, in his home.

He was a native of Bertie County and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Perry Perry; one daughter, Elaine Perry Harrell of Ahoskie; one son, James Donnis Perry Jr. of Ahoskie; three sisters, Barbara Hardison of Chesapeake, Dorothy Coltrain of Williamston, N.C., and Mary Harrison of Windsor, N.C.; three brothers, William D. Perry and Robert E. ``Jake'' Perry, both of Ahoskie, and Thomas E. Perry of Lewiston Woodville, N.C.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Perry Jernigan.

The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Paul Ange and the Rev. Robert May. Burial was in Highland Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
