Police said Friday that McClain was not charged. Police have arrested two Portsmouth men in connection with a robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon at First Union Bank in the 600 block of Loudoun Ave.

Lamar Brodnax, 25, of the 500 block of Beechdale Road, and Michael McClain, 23, of the first block of Taft Drive, both were charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm.

Brodnax also was charged with the June 24 armed robbery of a woman at an automatic teller machine near Alexander's Corner.
