Stephen S. Squires, 93, of the 300 block of George Washington Highway, North, died Saturday, July 1, 1995, in a nursing home.
He was a native of Camden County, N.C., and was the son of the late Stephen Forbes and Olivia Squires. He was the husband of the late Florence Harrison Squires.
He was retired after 30 years in the Quality Control Department of the Ford Motor Co., Norfolk Plant. He was a member of the Beach Grove United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach, and a past District Deputy Guard Master of the 36th Masonic District of Virginia. He was a member of the Great Bridge Masonic Lodge, the Princess Anne Masonic Lodge, and the Kempsville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Stephen F. Squires Sr. of Chesapeake; one daughter, Beverly Kronenburg of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, July 6, 1995, at 11 a.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Sandra Benton. Masonic rites will follow. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Beach Grove United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach.
