NATO EXERCISE: NATO's Norfolk-based Allied Command Atlantic and U.S. Atlantic Command will host more than 4,000 soldiers from four NATO and 14 other European countries in a combined exercise at Fort Poke, La., Aug. 8 through 28. Called ``Combined Nugget 95,'' this is the sixth military exercise to be conducted as part of NATO's Partnership for Peace program, but the first of its kind on U.S. soil.
BEST ARMY CHOW: The 329th Support Group of the Virginia Army National Guard, which drills at Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach, has been selected as the 1995 Army-wide winners of the Philip A. Connelly Award for food service excellence. In existence since 1968, the award is judged in the field kitchen category. This is the first time a Virginia unit has won it. Selected members of the unit will attend an awards ceremony in Palm Springs, Calif., Aug. 12.

COMINGS & GOINGS
DEPARTURE:
The first U.S. Ready Reserve Force ship set sail last week from Norfolk for the Adriatic Sea to support NATO troops preparing to reinforce U.N. peacekeepers in Bosnia. The roll-on, roll-off ship Cape Race, commanded by Capt. Frank Jope, is scheduled to arrive at either Split or Ploce in the former Yugoslavia by mid-July.
CHANGE OF COMMAND:
Capt. John C. Bucelato will be relieved by Capt. Theodore R. Morandi as commanding officer of the Naval Aviation Depot at Norfolk Naval Air Station in ceremonies July 14. Bucelato is being reassigned to the staff of the Atlantic Fleet as deputy for regional maintenance. Morandi has been executive officer of the Norfolk NADEP since June 1994.
Cmdr. Robert W. Ryan relieves Cmdr. Jack E. Fraizer as commanding officer of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 123 at Norfolk Naval Station. Ryan has been serving as executive officer of the ``Screwtops,'' an E-2C Hawkeye Radar plane squadron. Fraizer is being assigned to the carrier Theodore Roosevelt as combat direction center officer.
Capt. Stanley A. Denham relieves Capt. Stephen W. Delaplane as the 33rd commanding officer of the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. Delaplane will become commander of the Naval ROTC unit and professor of military science at the University of Nebraska. Denham is a special operations officer who previously served on the staff of the Atlantic Fleet.
Capt. Donald R. Thompson relieves Capt. William T.T. Hood as director of TRICARE Tidewater, the Uniformed Services Health Care program being developed by the Defense Department.
