It has been announced that an unclaimed lottery ticket for $11 million will be donated to the state Literary Fund.
Virginia is planning to spend millions of dollars for additional prisons. This need is created by drug crimes.
We do not need new prisons. We need to have ample places to treat and rehabilitate drug users.
Virginia has plenty of lottery money that could be used for this purpose. Why not donate the $11 million of the unclaimed ticket? I can think of nothing more important.
The money the state is planning to spend on building new prisons will be more than ample to erect buildings to rehabilitate drugs users, who make up the larger percentage of our criminals.
Let's do everything we can to make good citizens of drug users, who eventually become criminals.
