The intelligence of countless Virginian-Pilot readers was insulted by the front-page story (June 26) depicting a ``surprise'' wedding in Suffolk. One and one-half pages of text? Equal billing with the death of former Chief Justice Warren Burger?
Ultimately this newspaper is doomed to the life of a small-town rag as long as the editors approve such nonsense on the front page. Perhaps your management should be required to read The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
